A close standing attack is an attack performed at close range in a state where you are standing (cf. standing attack and normal move).
In 2D fighting games, this is an idea that lies on the flip side of the far standing attack.
In general, close standing attacks are cancelable, and are thus pivotal to combos and such.
Close standing sometimes do multiple hits, or have an overhead hitbox, or have a low hitbox.
