Reversal

What it is

A reversal, strictly speaking, is a move performed the very first frame you recover from a stun.

The most common kind of reversal is the “wakeup attack” – when it seems your best option, an ideal attack done quickly is an attempt to get the opponent to back off so you can turn the tables on them. When using a special move in a reversal, the aid of buffered input is often enlisted.
