Multi-step move

What it is

A multi-step move has multiple attack hitboxes (and especially strike hitboxes) start up.

Whether or not all the attack hitboxes will hit often depends on just how the move hits, and so the damage done may increase or decrease (usually decrease, since usually all attack hitboxes hit if the first does) depending on which of the hitboxes hit.

The opposite of the multi-hit move is the single-step move.
