Pokes (taps, etc.) are moves without very much of an opening at all. In practice, this almost always refers to weak attacks (see normal move). Some games don’t distinguish between weak and strong, and in a few cases, pokes can be stronger than “weak” (e.g., they may travel far but return quickly).
